The hood emblem looks salvageable.

What makes you think there was shilling going on if you can't see the bidders identity?

who would pay $18k for this wreck, i think that why people like this put this garbage on private auction, makes it lost easier to bid on with mutiple accounts on ebay

Cool

I think that's a very interesting auction. For that price I wonder where and whom got the kick back.

Chop Shops, that's who. Buying this car legitamizes a stolen car. Cut this one up, put the VIN plates onto the stolen car and presto - a car that can be sold to an unsuspecting buyer.

We used to buy wrecks at my dad's shop, my Vette was a theft recovery infact. There was another bidder that used to pay ludachrist amounts of money for vehicles that had 0 salvage content and certainly were not worth rebuilding. I remember one 2 year old ford truck that they bought for $5000, it was rolled (several times) and burnt (looked like something resulting from a car chase on a TV movie). To boot, they were located 2000 miles away (we were in BC, they were called Quebec Auto Auction).

OOOooo.... I bought a truck from this guy in Jan. Auction didn't go smoothly. He delivered me a LOCKED truck on a flatbed with no keys when it was stated it was a runner and was driveable. Had to rent fork trucks to get it off. Check your fine print on this guy. If it is like me, he will bone you on the small details. Don't recommend.
