About to remove Engine for 1st time ....
I'm about to remove the engine and transmission in my 72 T for the 1st time.
I'm planning on doing the following projects: Replace Clutch Replace Flywheel seal Replace Flywheel Pilot Bearing Turn and refinish fly wheel Replace motor mounts Install rocker shaft seals Replace pulley seal Adjust valves Send Transmission to Walker to reseal/rebuild if necessary Remove Oil Cooler and have professionally cleaned: Try and fix oil leak on left side of MFI Pump Detail and paint engine compartment Can anyone think of anything else (reasonable) that I should consider? I'm thinking about pulling the engine in a month or so and working on it for a while over the Winter.... |

When I do it again, I'm gonna use a motorcycle jack.

There's a lot of debate on motorcycle jack vs normal. I used the motorcycle jack with a very thick board (about 2' by 2'). This allowed the motorcycle jack to support the engine by the exhaust manifolds. I found the it kept the engine extremely level and stable while still allowing for ajustments to the engine on lowering and raising.
Good time to consider updates if you haven't already done so. I'm not familiar with the '72 so I can't comment on anything else that should be done.
