STOLE these from WEVO this evening !!

Ahhh yes... the NEW semi solid mounts that will soon be the rage. Come and see them at the WEVO booth this weekend at the German AutoFest. They ROCK. You will also be able to "shift" the shifters... see the new brake kits... see the new upper mono ball strut mounts.. lots of new products and AWESOME working displays. Also arriving with our NorCal group will be the Jerry Woods/SmartCamber crew with all new displays and products for your viewing pleasure. Last year was a huge success for WEVO and the "shifter table".. I know I will be visiting both booths and "fondling" the parts. B Last edited by Brad Roberts; 09-08-2004 at 12:18 AM..

WEVO produces one of those "Slam dunk " line of parts; ie everything they produce is absolutely TOP NOTCH. I'll be looking into this stuff.......even though I just got the factory sport mounts when the 3.6 Varioram went in.

Thom - Just a guess - but I'd say there is realistically no advantage. Look sharp when you open the lid, appealing colors? Stock mounts Sport mounts - nice, I have em Solid mounts - bone shakers, stress causers, not recommended for street So how could the WEVO mounts fit in this scheme of choices??? If you have stock old mounts these might be a good choice - but probably not a reason to ditch your sport mounts. Just a *guess*, haven't seen the product.

It is my understanding that this product are for those who know that solid mounts provide the best possible alignment of the drivetrain to the shifter mechanism under hard driving conditions but are concerned about the implications of solid mounts when it comes to stress on the chassis and driver. Those people also know that the while the sport mounts provide a noticed improvement, they are still somewhat compliant and result in drive train flex. The new WEVO semi-solid mounts are a comprimise, strategically placed in between solid mounts and sport mounts. The materials used provide just the right amount of compliance to reduce movement of the drivetrain but prevent unwanted amounts of vibrations from being translated to the chassis. If you strategically examine the other top-notch products that WEVO offers, you will notice that they are working towards optimizing the drivers interaction with the transmission. If you add in the positive shift joints, the wevo shifter mechanism, and the internal gate shift for the 915 transmission to the these new semi-isolated engine and transmission mounts you now have most ideal situation in terms of minimizing induce wear on the internal transmission components. If I am correct on the price, they also priced them competivily at $79.00 each. The solid mounts are overpriced for what they are and the sport mounts are ~$50 each. I will definitely be installing a set of these in my car. -Britain

The one I was holding weighs less than a stock "sport" mount. Anthony.. there was a reason why I didnt post the price here... I wasnt 100% sure. Britain nailed it. Also... No metal to metal contact. B

I personally feel the key with these is this: With solid mounts... everything the engine/tranny does gets transfered into the chassis/driver. This works both ways. Whatever the chassis is doing is be transfered into the engine and tranny also. Not good. This is stressing parts that where not designed to be stressed. We see this quite frequently with cracked engine cross bars and cracked tranny mounts. B
