Front turn signal wiring connector

OK, I am now totally frustrated! I am removing my passenger side front turn signal housing for extra air flow to the cooler..EXCEPT I can not seem to get the wiring connector apart (73 E) . It appears the connector is about 1" behind the housing(It appears to be a rubber boot over the actual connector...the whole thing seals into the entry for the housing) but I have pried, pulled, twisted, cursed..oh yeah even came up with some new curses! but can't get it apart. Is there a secret or should I put some muscle to it? Any chance the connection is actually inside the front trunk?

Hi Rich,

The connection is actually right at the entrance into the trunk. Open the trunk and have someone hold it from in there while you pull from inside the fender.

Just a tough connection but it does work.

ahhhh....so it is NOT supposed to come apart near the housing itself? Glad I didn't resort to brute mode..Thanks

That's correct. The multi-pin connector pulls out from the inside. Then just push the wiring harness out through the fender well. the headlight wires are also attached through this harness. Be prepared to separate these as well. also Fogs, if you have them.
