Question Fuel tank removal from a 911t

Could someone please guide me in the right direction with respect to removing a gas tank which seems to be 'hanging-up' on something at the back side of the tank (the side adjacent to the smuggler's box). I have removed all the visible tie-down lugs and the front of the tank is free from the sealer gasket. The fuel lines, in-line filter, and pump have been disconnected from the bottom/back of the tank; so they are not part of the problem. I don't want to force the tank out as 'Murphy' will surely visit some sort of revenge upon me for being ham-handed about all of this. I have tried numerous searches and haven't quite found the answer. Any advice BBS members could give me would most appreciated.
Thanks
Brian

Brian,

It probably is the outlet fitting(s). Bolt the tank back down and use a socket to remove the fitting. It is much easier when the tank is fixed in the car. You will need to remove all three anyway.

To remove the tank, lift the front and slide forward as you rotate the front of the tank slightly up. Pay attention to the filler neck.

Best,
Grady
