Carrera emblem removal?

Getting a new tail and am going to repaint the rear deck too, is the carrera emblem held on with adhesive, it moves a bit at the ends and I dont want to break it.

Thanks

Craig

Yup. Just use dental floss to 'cut' the adhesive behind the emblem. Then rub what you can of the adhesive off with your thumb. Clean remaining 'sticky stuff' off with your favorite paint safe cleaner.

You can also use a heatgun (hair dryer) to help it alone.

Your local auto paint store will have 3M brand 'tape' made just for this application, (good stuff). Clean both the car and the emblem with alcohol (don't use lacquer thinner or harsher, as it might remove the black from your emblem). Apply tape to emblem and trim with a very shape X-acto knife. If you are a perfectionist, you can use a 'Sharpie' marking pen to color the edges of the tape black, to match your emblem. Apply. (hopefully you took measurements, or marked your car, so you get it back in the same place.
