Smoke and hot start trouble
I have a '74 2.7 with Weber 40s...
It has a rough time starting when hot, and also smokes a little bit when running. The smoke smells a little bit like burning oil and seems to be coming more from the left side of the engine. It does leak oil and I think it might be leaking onto the heat exchangers? Anything cheap/easy I can do to fix this? Thanks Ian

The hot start could be caused by heat transfer into the carbs. This can boil the fuel and make the starts hard. Do you have the insulating gaskets?
For the oil leak, crawl under and find the leak. You should see the oil and if the top of the HEs are wet and discolored. Clean it up and then fix the leak. could be heads, valve covers, cam lines, oil return tubes, Many things to leak on a 911.
