Thanks again Cliff for helping out a fellow P-car fanatic. Nice looking car ain't it? Oh, nice house in the background too.

Nice photo!

I just rebuilt my pedals in my 86 last weekend too. With the new clutch, new cable, new helper spring, and rebuilt tranny, I thinks it as close to perfect as a 915 can be.

My brother and I each treated ourselves to Nikon D70's over the summer (the wives gave them to us for b'day gifts!). Really an amazing camera.

After shooting through the 80's with an SLR, then the late 90's with Digital P&S (point and shoot), Digital SLR is the way to go...

Beautiful pic.

I love my D70. I have been burning up the "film" since I got it. Put one of them in a monkeys hand and eventually he will get a nice shot ;-)
Nice car too!

I went from carrying a Nikon F5 and F4s to a Fuji S2 Pro and a Nikon D70 with a Nikon D1 in between. The D70 is all I need for most things. It focuses fast for my wildlife and bird photography and has a nice "Nikon" feel. When I want the best color out there and a bigger image size, the S2 Pro is the camera I use. Having said that, the new D2X looks as if it might shoot a few digital images of my Porsche a few months down the line

Just got my D70 this week, so I was trying it out this morning at Smart Racing's open house. What a nice camera and show!

cliff - you went digital?! this is the green light i've been waiting for. now i just need some green in my wallet.
the nikon d70 seems to be the camera of choice for digital SLRs. never read a bad thing about it. plus the price is real reasonable. are you guys buying the package body/lens deal?
would love to see some more D70 shots from everyone.

bob, yes i went full dig. i couldnt help it. the cost was better than building a darkroom at my house. i got it from ritz camera online, free shippng and no tax. the compact flash is from costco. i got the camera lens outfit. here is the first shot i took, right out of the box after charging the battery, the detail rivals my leica. well, no. but damn close. sorry in advance for the dog pic.

I bought the D70 "Kit" from BestBuy. No interest or payments for 18 months and I joined their rewards club and I get a rebate. Nearly everyone sells the kit for $1299.

Went D70 2 months ago, after shooting Canon 35mm for 29 years. No regrets. Although, the first D70 body went dead after 1 week, and they gave me a new one. So that was not ... good.

I too went from film SLR (Olympus OM-1) to Digital P&S (Olympus D300L) and finally to a digital SLR ( Canon EOS-10D). This type of camera is BIG FUN! Get lots of memory ie. 512mb and shoot tons of pictures in really high res. Nikon and Canon seem to be the leaders in the semi-pro category right now.

this is trivial but in talking with a "professional" photographer she gave some advice which made sense, buy several 256 MB cards instead of one huge card. this way if something happens to the one then you're not entirely screwed.
great first shot cliff - probably should have cleaned up the blood around the dog's face. what are you feeding that thing - stray cats?
msterling - cool pic. you guys are making me jealous.
