Hey Michael - If you come across the link for the carpet that would be great...thanks.

See Jo...creating a bastard CE isn't my first order of business =)

I am not sure that the additional premiums the turbo look cars command, would be worth it to me in total, despite their added collectability.

Is it the more collectable the better? Up to what point?
If the car you are looking for is a daily driver and occasional DE events, I certainly wouldn't be looking for anything collectable for that purpose.
Just my .02 worth.

Look at pelican parts....interior--bulk carpet-german silver knit-
than the samples pictures-SL-18 silverblue. thats it.
There is an other manufacturer worldupholstery.com
But its not cheaper;)

Nine9six,

My interest is not in a collector car...but a G50 car. If it happens to be something like this 88CE, then so be it. It would be a daily driver and the occasional DE or xcross. I'm looking for a diamond in the rough where I can pick the car up on the cheap and spend the time and money to get a well sorted car. For me this is an exersize in seeing what it will take to make this car just that.

I do appreciate your comment though.

Thanks Jo.

Have you done the bulk carpet route before? Isn't it MUCH easier going with pre-cut, pre-formed pieces? I see the SL-18 in the complete kit PEL-911-CPK-06

Sure, thats possible,
but the perfect way is to take the old carpet as measurement and than work with an expert upholstery.
Every car is maybe a bit different/modelyear and the original binding is leather in silverblue...the pelican set is with vinyl binding, but there is a way for extraorders. Ask them..i did it. ;)
We decided to do it all in germany, because we want it perfect.
Much more expensive, than 800 US$.

Can anyone tell me what is missing here?

It looks to be part of the A/C

exponence 04-11-2006 11:55 PM

i am not sure, if its only the tube or a complete blower there, i take a look later. Jo

exponence 04-12-2006 07:32 AM

There is definitely something lost ;)
a big black blower...maybe it is the fresh air blower (nothing special for the A/C)

... a part of the A/C should be under the small access door -behind the fuel tank (as seen on your pic)

WesMason 04-12-2006 08:27 AM

Ok...well that is at least something positive. If I can get the top to work I think I'll have a fairly LARGE fresh air blower working.

The dash is cracked in several places. Is there a way to put a new skin on it or do I need to replace it all together?
