88 930 -Cannot lock doors -help!

The doors do not lock on my 930..I am the new owner and thus probably do not know what I am doing??..the passengers side door will lock if you turn the knob on the inside of the door but the drivers side will not turn to lock the door....does this have anything to do with the fact the drivers side door on the side of the door there is a place to put a key that I do not have...not the outside fo the door but if you open the door you see a place to put a key that I do not have?? is this the problem...

if I lock from the outside, it locks and then just reopens...the button in the console turns red if I push it and it will not lock the doors either....

also, on the a/c vents...the outside vents blow hot air continuously....even with the a/c turned on...

any advice.

Thanks,

The key hole on the inside of the door that you refer to is for the factory alarm.

It could be a broken plastic clip on the lock linkage causing a bind and that could prevent you from turning the knob to lock from inside. To get to it you have to pull the door panel. Also, do you have an alarm system such as a Clifford? If so it can be failing. This one of the things our Clifford system did when it went bad. It would also auto lock the doors even though we had it programmed not to! Try moving the heater control to raise/lower the temp and if that does not work then short linkage rod inside the console has come loose probably from a broken plastic clip. Good luck
