I hope nobody has already started a thread on this, if they have I'm sorry for double posting.
Let me say first that this was a very nice event. A big thanks to Jerry woods Enterprises and Smart Racing, Wevo, and any one else who helped to put this day on. Some very nice cars on display, a 962, a Chevron race car ( don't know anything about them), a 934 that was converted to road use, some nice race prepped 911's, a 916, and a few others. Wevo had their display set up, and they have some very nice hardware. Jerry Woods had his shop doors open with some tasty eye candy on engine stands. A 935 engine, a 934 engine, and a 924 GTS or something of that nature to name a few. Jerry did an engine run on the dyno, and that was cool. I didn't get to see too much of it, since it's a small room, and was already packed. But the sound was awesome. Smart Racing had their doors open with all thier products on display, along with Carlsen Porsche who had a 997, a GT3 Cup car, and a Cayenne on display. Then there was Bob Stovonavich's (SP) set up. This thing looked like a hospitality tent for a F-1 race. Very nice, and a cool car too. Enough rambling, here's a few pics: ![]() 908 frame ![]() 916 |

Don't know if that's actuall or not, but it sure looked like it just rolled of the assembly line. ![]() Here's one of Tom (emcon5) leaving in his car. He was kind enough to hang out with me all day, since my wife dropped me off, and went shopping. Thanks again Tom. |

the GT3 and the car on the alignment rack (pale bule with a 3.8) were Johannes Van Overbeck's, the green 3.0 was one of the tech guys from JWE, there were three Toyo Cup Cars inlcuding Rich's the blue with yellow trim, the fastest in the bunch, and Rob was playing endless incar video from his screaming turbo.
it was a great event, Jim

the green car's mileage is real, it's only traveled 46km in the past 10 years. At the German Autofest it only had traveled 42km.

I had a great time - JWE put on a great "show" including the free grits and sodas!. Sorry I missed that dyno run. A great selection of Porsches, motors, and tech equipment! Wish I brought my camera! First time I've ever seen a 916 (the yellow car) - very interesting!

That 908 frame looks absolutely gorgeous and Van Overbeeks car up on the rack is pretty slick too.

With the motec box connected to a PC, we could see the effects of monkeying with the fuel and ignition maps have on power in real time. ![]() It was a monster 3.8, with TWMs, put out well north of 300HP at 8K rpms. Bruce Anderson's 911 History talk was interesting, even though it was mostly stuff we already knew. The 997 looks just as good in person. Outstanding visit. Tom |

what an awesome display of hardware!! i had never seen any of the racing cars in person before and the 962/935/934.5 were all as advertised. i just wish they would have had the rear lids open for viewing.
kid962, yes Bob did have his newest car there, the twin turbo 996 look carbon fiber body. quite a car. i was also impressed by his trailer set up, the TV and video equipment. i had not seen bob in a couple of years and it was good to hang out with him and catch up on things. i will be attending a future event with him, and may work his pit crew in one of the 25 hour raced at thunderhill coming up at the end of oct. i am really looking forward to that oppertunity, although if its anything like being a carpenter on his crew i may feel differently by the 2nd hour of the event. all in all great day and good to see all the cars and people.
