Tail light assembly - removal

Is there some way to disconnect the tail light assembly on a 77 911. Is there an electrical connection or something similar?

I would like to remove them from my car.

I would first unplug the wiring harness connection in the corner on each side of the engine compartment, this gives you a little more wire to work with. Then you will need to remove the lense from the housing. Once that's removed there are two screws which hold the housing into the rear quarterpanel. Once you get those removed you will need to unscrew the back cover on the housing to gain access to the wires to unplug them from the terminal. That should pretty much do it. Good luck.
