After a year and a half's worth of hard slog, I am now the prowd owner of a 2000 piece puzzle, with no picture to work from, and with no piece having a unique place... (I believe it's a picture of a bottomless pit!!! ;) )

In any case;

Before, it was a real "wideboy" car, with tailfin (which was the first to go!)
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1096612998.jpg

I then strpped her down completely
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1096613054.jpg

And discovered rust - tonnes of it!
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1096613111.jpg

"Read my lips - no more rust!"
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1096613190.jpg

Then she was primered
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1096613256.jpg

And painted
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1096613294.jpg

Not bad for an amateur swinging a $50 spraygun! :D

If I could now only figure where all the little bits go....

it's not unstable

but at 90 , the stress on the wheel hubs becomes to great if you apply pressure on the car... as you would when scraping undercoating... the car would rock back and forth a little bit...
and would behave similar to what a crowbar does ( dunno the best word in english to explain it)

so it's not the 90 degrees, but it's the way pressure applied to the top of the car, translates to the wheelhubs downlow on which the car is resting.

if you would use less than 90 degrees... than that's not an issue
because the weight of the car , still goes downwards, relatively to the car...

Scuba. I might still have them kicking around. I'll have a look.

I figured you would. MMM! Looks awfully familiar.

vanwyk4257 10-02-2004 07:44 AM

Jack, I had all but decided on an ST, but I keep looking at these pics of Avery's car and all the pics of your car, now I may have to go full out with an RSR!

Avery 10-02-2004 08:01 AM

I've always had the dream of a black RSR look car to build. Watching progress on Jack's black beauty project pushed me to make that dream a reality. He also turned me on to his wheel source. So...yes, his project indeed inspired my project.

tomt 10-02-2004 08:21 AM

I'm not as brave as you guys... but I lost 150 or so pounds in the process. Here's a pic of the finished project and the left over parts.
