Well after three fabulous weeks, my wife and I are boarding a plane this evening back to Australia. I have over 300 photos to down load, very dirty laundry, no money and am looking forward to my own bed, BUT we have had a great time made all the better by meeting some of the great people on this board
![]() In no order... Mike Z and Sammy G, Chuck Moreland, Hayden (Wevoid), Joe Herrios, Tyson, but particularly Jack Olsen and his wife Lara have made our trip something to remember. Jack and Lara have gone out of there way to make our short time in LA brilliant. There are others out there I didn't get to catch up with but whom PMed me there details such as HughR, DavidI, and Expat. I'm really sorry that time didn't allow me to call by. A special thanks to Grady Clay who sent me plenty of ideas and places to make sure we visited, just sorry he didn't make it to GAF. We plan on doing the East side of your beautiful country next time ![]() In the mean time, if anyone is considering a trip to Australia... please don't hesitate to contact me as I'll help out in any way I can. There are a few Aussie Pelicans I know will also help out. Speak to you soon from the other side of the world ![]()

John,
Glad you both had a fun and safe trip. I’m sorry I didn’t make it to LA but such is life when my brain wants one thing and the bod allows another. When you post your experiences, I’ll update my post for other World Pelicans who want a great western US tour. Yes, an East Coast tour would be great fun. How about a winter Colorado ski tour or a summer tour up through the Rocky Mountains? There is a lifetime of seeing North America. Get some rest, tinker with the 911, and be ready for the next adventure. Best, Grady

Like Fishcop, there are lots of worldwide Pelicans, PCA, and Porsche Clubs around the world that we welcome to the States.
Anyone who wants to tour the USA and Canada should post on this Forum. Let’s hear from you. You are welcome and we can provide assistance and fun. Bring your Porsche. Best, Grady

When you come here we'll have you and your wife streaking down 9th avenue, and by the end of the night you'll be suckling a bottle of Mad Dog in the Bowery begging for mercy. Courtesy the East Coast boys.

John, I'm sure we brushed shoulders at the GAF but never met. Large events are a hard place to connect unless one has a car there and stays put. I was constantly moving, and as a result, ran into maybe a dozen Pelicans I knew previously. I can't remember meeting anyone new except for Chuck M's new bride. And if I didn't get to meet anyone but her, that was a nice person with whom to have made an acquaintance.
Anyway, sorry we didn't chat a bit, but I'm truely happy you enjoyed your stay. And, it sounds like Jack went out of his way to be hospitable. I guess you can't find a better diplomat for our group, much less our region of the world. Have a safe trip. I forget which way you get more sleep or less, but I hope the time change is an easy transition. I wouldn't like it, I know. BTW, if you get to the East Coast, this would be about the best time of year. I was there once in late Sept and it was beautiful. |

Well here I am finally at home and in front of my faithful old IBM and dial up (Jack has ruined me with his wi-fi and connection speed
![]() I have been awake now for 54 hours straight... as I write this I have not slept since you saw me at TRE... sleep soon, but this is the best way I've found to beat jetlag. Zeke, everywhere I went and for every Pelican I met at the GAF I would find out that I'd "just missed xyz", oh well maybe next time ('cause I do want to go again ![]() I'll put some porsche related photos of our trip together and post separately, but I think I'll wait until I'm back at work and can work bigger files... Thanks Everyone
