Big Question here

Due to the weather (hurricanes, etc) and my mom and mother in law being in the hospital recently at the same time I haven't even been inside 'the great pumpkin' a '70- 911e in about 7 weeks. Got him cleaned up to take a ride this afternoon and could not get it to go into gear while the engine was running. Ended up putting it into first and turning him over, after he cranked, everything seemed ok. I live in a very high humidity area, is it possible for the clutch/press plate to freeze or lock together. The clutch felt like it was engaging ok, but couldn't get it to pull into any gear. As Ricky Recardo would say 'splain that to mee'. I've owned many aircooled cars, got 4 now and this was the first time that I have ever experienced this, I did think that I saw a ufo about two weeks ago. Any help?? JR

it's usually a winter storage issue.

That is the exact symptoms of a sticking clutch. Your best cure is to start in gear, then on a deserted road while driving depress the clutch and alternate gas and brake. Once there is some heat in the clutch it will unstick right away.
Starting it in gear wit the clutch pedal depressed and the handbrake on will break things.

Hmmm.... anybody want to find that winter storage thread and tack on an admotion to exercise the clutch periodically to avoid this?
