Thumbs up Evansville IN Area Pelicans - Anyone out there?

I am new to the area an wanted to see if any fellow Porsche guys were in the area. I think it would be great to meet and exchange info, etc. I am also looking for a good paint shop and service shop, etc.

I was born in Evanstucky but I was transplanted to Indy at a young age . I went back a couple of years ago for a british car show and alot has changed but still seemed pretty tame compared to Indy and I'm not bragging about Indy . Living along the river can be pretty neat though . Welcome

Indy hears you loud and clear! I've heard good things about Buxton Motorsports down that way.

Brian Buxton is a long time Rennlister, and he has a great rep on Rennlist. I didn't know his shop repaired cars though. I thought he was a dealer solely, but I haven't checked in a while..he has a website.

thanks guys. I have been in contact with Brian, I need to call him back. Yeah, Evansville is fairly tame to say the least but the people seem nice enough and it sure is car country here, maybe not Porsche country, but car country.

Do you guys ever have a Porsche meet in this state?

Shawn French checking in from Warsaw,IN. A few of us meet up every year on Saturday of the F1 weekend in Indy. Also every year we have an informal gathering here in Warsaw, Carshow followed by "The GruppeB Bonfire of Doom!!!" This year we even included a tech session.....How to remove a damaged A-arm.

Welcome to Indiana! Or is it New York??

Its Indiana now! It was NY. I guess I need to change my settings there. Let me know when these get togethers are and I will come up north. F1 sounds great. I went a few years ago.

sorry about the rust man, dealing with it is a right of passage with longhoods!

If you can't find rust on a long hood you aren't looking hard enough. I think I need a welder for Christmas.

James & all,

Not to hijack James’ thread but in the interest of all area Pelicans, how about a gathering of the Pelican flock in Indy over Thanksgiving? That is a fairly central location for Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan. Would Friday or Saturday work for most? FWIW I’ll be there, about 15 minutes south of the Indianapolis airport.

What do you think?

Best,
Grady

If you feel like a bit of a drive there is a Porsche / VW show swap meet on the north side of Cinci this Sunday . One problem with Evansville is it seems there are no direct roads to anywhere but from what I understand there are plans in the works to make Evansville more accessable . Take a short drive over to the Newburg lock and dam , its a cool area along the river .

I would say yes (oh and please steal my thread anytime, any FOT (friend of Tyson) is a friend of mine) but I will be in NYC. How about a weekend meet there, maybe someone local can organize a location and we get Chicago folks to come too?

Hey, I'm new to the Pellican group too. I would like to meet all who show up over thanksgiving weekend somewhere around Indy. It would be fun to find out what the hell is going on with this kind of "funky" group. Let me know and I'll try to be there or help arrange something. Thanks Strup
