will changing oil stop leak ?

Newbie type question here !
Ive got a couple of minor leaks ,will changing from my present oil valvoline synpower (synthetic) to something like castrol gtx high mileage oil -stop the leaks.(plus the castrol is a lot cheaper!)
The car dosnt loose much oil but the smell of the oil on the exhaust is a bit strong
Btw the car has done 107K.

Probably not, but not that expensive to find out.

Sure.
Just change the oil for cement.

All kidding aside, my engine leaked just a few drops after the rebuild. At 10K miles the dino was switched to synthetic. BIG mistake. It immediately began leaking tripple what it used to.

These cars don't need synthetic. It's a waste of money. I told the mechanic explicitly that I did not want synthetic. He put it in anyway and charged me accordingly. I'll be back real soon....

I noticed less leaks when I changed to Kendall from the PO's oil which I assume was synthetic. I have no plans to run synthetic in my engine even after the break in is complete after the rebuild.

It depends on the leak.

I had a Supra Turbo and on syn, it would make a drop or so; on dyno, it was dry!

As posted above, it is cheap enough for you to test.

The blurb on the back of the gtx high mileage can said it contained "conditioners" that improved the properties of the oil seals.
Gonna give it a try ,i could always use it on my hair if it dont work
