993 Air injection ports
How many 993 owners have had to get a valve job because their air injection ports are clogged and the engine warning light comes on?

Only a small number of OBDII cars have had the secondary air injector ports clogged, but it does get a lot of coverage.
The ports help with startup, pumping oxygen into the exhausts in order to get rid of unburnt fuel. It doesn't affect drivability, but it will mean that you will not pass an emissions test. The central engine light will come on when there is clogging. I have a '95 model with the OBDI system, which are much less sensative at detecting the port clogging than the OBDII system, but not immune. |

Lots of 993's have secondary air injection problems.. Many 993's need valve jobs because of worn out valve guides. Call me John.
