996TT teardown
One of the NoVa gang on Dorki brought up this thread from Rennlist. Interesting look at the TT rebuild.
The tools needed ($$) are staggering! http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/showthread.php?t=162743 |

That's one tough puzzle, even if you CAN look at the picture. Makes work on our engines look like a cool collar install.

I read through the whole post. I don't see us ordinary DIY guys diving into a 996 engine.

I am a little familiar with Stephen Kaspar (PorschPhd). He is in our local KC region PCA, and is an amazing guy. He is a guru and wizard around things all things 911, and is a great guy to just chat with. He has helped diagnose some things with my car (for free), and even offered to loan tools or help out any way he can. In my opinion, this guy sets the standard by which Porsche experts should be measured.

Take a good look guys, that's what us DIYers have to work with in about 10-15 years. Time to buy a press.
