77 Carrera 3.0 Parts question
I need a couple parts but being a 77 and a euro, I am on what seems to be a border line year for 911 parts. Anyways, I need a fuel accumulator and a clutch cable. Can anyone recommend whether I get the 77 US or the 78 US stuff?
Thanks, David

Hi David,
I looked on the PET this morning and the part number for the Euro 77 fuel accumulator is 911.110.197.01 - the same as the pre 1980 911SC. I.e. '77C3, '78SC, '79SC use the same accumulator according to the PET. -Chris

Just a quick one on the accumulator, it is worth doing a visual to be absolutely certain. I picked up an SC unit to use on mine but it had one pipe too many. Mine is '76 but I have seen enough 911s to know that model years are a very fluid concept in Germany! Only takes two seconds to check.
Basically if the fuel filter is mounted at an angle above the accumulator it's early 2-pipe type, if the filter is mounted upright next to the accumulator it's the SC type. Early two-connection type is Bosch number 0438 170 002. If it has three - two top and one bottom - then it is Bosch number 0438 170 009, same as early SC and the part Chris has posted the Porsche number for. Using the Bosch number with a Bosch specialist might get you the parts cheaper and faster, at least it does over here. Very few Porsche dealers keep these parts on the shelf and they are often on back order for months. You might still wait for Bosch but they can usually check stock in the network and find you one faster ![]() This pic shows the two:
