Thanks, Chris 73 911 E |

For OEM (Sliverknit) carpet, do a search for World Upholstery and/or GAHH. If you want top-quality domestic-pile pieces/sets, Bob at Apbiz is the way to go.

He is asking about velour, which was the delux carpet on early 911 models. who makes that at an affordable price. last i checked the sets using genuine German velour were around $800!

AFAIK, the only plush OEM "velour" is the German Sliverknit. Like I mentioned above, World Upholstery is a pretty good source for it. Although, you are correct, it is not cheap! |

Scott:
Your links are right on. Looks like they are going to run about $800 for the set (including trunk). I have to ask, what's the deal with Original Fit? Chris 73 911 E |

Original Fit is VERY, VERY slow. When I called to check on the status of my order, **IF** I got the guy on the phone (usually I got a machine), he'd promise the order would be shipped within a week. It took months. Do a search on the board, and you'll find other people with similar experiences. His prices may be great, but the aggravation isn't worth it. Go with World Upholstery or Autos International. No personal experience, but I hear they're great.

Two places posted above are:
http://www.gahh.com/samplei.html GAHH apparently carries leather, headliner material, Vinyl, Canvas, carpet etc for many cars including Porsche. The Porsche Place? I can't find info on this one with a search... I know neither - just doing a search and posting results here. |

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned our host as a source for carpet sets, since the catalog seems to cover all varieties, and the prices are in line.
Anyway, I bought a set from these guys: Very nice German velour, and a nicely done set. They sell direct also, @ $390 for a 69-73 set. Shipping to NJ was $89. Chances are you can pick up a set at their opening ebay bid of $340, as most sets I've seen come up have had no bids. Disclaimer: I'm in no way associated with this vendor, just took a chance and am very satisfied with what I received.
