Alternator - Starter World feedback please

this will probably only pertain to folks in the San Francisco bay area, and forgive me if this is not the appropriate forum, but i'm trying to find anyone who has had any experience with a rebuilder of starters and alternators DBA "Alternator - Starter World" currently operating out of San Mateo. i had a puzzling experience and i'd like to compare notes.
