Celebration -- Got the car!!

Hello all,

As a newbie to Pelican (have trolled for some time, but just recently registered), I just thought I'd introduce myself and share my new toy, a gem of an 82SC....one day to be morphed into a track appliance

For those that know the car, it's "Speeder's" car who is a gentleman, through and through! A huge THANKS to Denis for making the entire process easy, pleasurable, and an excellent learning experience! I know it was tough for you to let go of such a finely prepped car; rest assured it is in good hands and will be appreciated by someone equally afflicted with automobile-OCD.

Thanks, too, to Dave at TRE who has been so friendly and helpful to me, even looong before the PPI.

As I am a "regular" on the Rennlist board (I'm a 993 guy) and have made many fine friends there, both real and virtual , I look forward to meeting and sharing with you here. Take care!

Hey Rich! Yeah, been on the hunt for a bit, you know, just for the "future" but had to jump on this very fine specimen! As it stands now, it is a well-prepped steet car, a strong foundation on which to build. All I need is the requisite safety stuff and I'll be good to go ...but short on funds so all that is in a bit of a holding pattern.

And gotta give huge kudos to wife --aka CFO-- for the green light a full year or two before this was to happen! I'm sure there are those of you here that are similarly fortunate

BTW, did anyone notice Dave laughing and rubbing his hands together when he posted about "plans afoot"...

Guys, thanks for giving Edward a warm welcome! The car went to a good home, and it will definitely show up at Willow and other California tracks.

Ed bought the car to DE and TT in, he has a pristine 993 that he was tracking and wanted a dedicated track car. My car was, and is a great street car w/ several upgrades, but it still needs safety equipment like roll bar/harness/seats/etc. for maximum track fun.

I have met so many wonderful people w/ this hobby, (OK, obsession), , including the people on this thread. Ed is the latest, he is a young guy who teaches HS English and has 4 little kids of his own!

I needed to sell my 911 for personal/financial reasons, which are temporary, plus I look forward to a new 911 to obsess on in the near future. Everything is going to be OK, as long as you guys stay my friends.
