Calling All Front End Expets
I have a 79 SC with a vibration in the front end at 70-75 MPH. I feel the vibration in the steering wheel and if I switch lanes or turn at the 70-75 MPH speed the vibration is less, but doesn't go away. I have tried new tires, new wheels, new bearings, but nothing has helped. any ideas!

sounds like tire balance.. balancing guys aren't always perfect. I have better results if they smell $20 before they start.

Ball joints? Shocks? A-arm bushings? Tie rod ends?
I just changed my ball joints, not because I needed to but because I destroyed them while trying to remove my struts for a cartridge replacement. It turns out that while they did not feel loose with the tires on, they were quite worn. I had a significant shimmy at 55 that is now totally gone, and another at 70-75 that is only very slight. Just a thought. |
RT,
And, of course, you've been having your tires balanced a the same place each time? |
Try a roadforce wheel balance first ,it's more expensive but it'll detect any deformities in the rim and tire....
