I can't wait

to get my car on the road...I'm still looking for a fender so I thought I'd concentrate on other stuff....i.e. play with the motor again and figure out what's causing the smoke .On the advice of those wiser than I ,I dropped 1.5qts of oil out of the tank ,put the truck battery in and fired her up....30secs ,1 min ,2 mins ,3 mins....NO smoke !! ,nothing .. . I just had to drive it ,just a little bit ,at least out of the driveway.... O.M.G !! this thing revs so fast it's unbelievable ,no turbo lag whatsoever ,I mean instantaineous response ,better than my Audi twin turbo ,ALMOST like my bike ! ........lucky it's pre-wired for a radar detector ,I've a feeling I'm gonna need it.....

Are you sure of the correct way to check your oil level? If not a search will advise.

I am now.... ,initially I had repaired the front cooler lines and cleaned the cooler and when I filled the oil I hadn't taken into account the fact that the valve wouldn't open till the temp reached 180 for the extra oil to flow to the cooler = lotsa smoke...
