What are the body measurement points.

I am looking for demensions and points of measurement for my 77 911. I know it was hit at one time. Not sure how bad and I want to make sure I get it straightened out before I have a 4 wheel alignment and corner balance. For that matter it may already have been repaired properly just want to double check. People also seem to say allot to part the cars out after they have been hit?? why?? Most places can get them pretty darn straight.
