Fiberglass doors - 935 style?
I want to install fiberglass doors, and I was thinking about going with the 935-style door, with the sliding window. I haven't found any good, clear, up close pix of the 'mechanism', which is really a simple slider like the split-window VW bus.
RennSpeed has the 935 doors, but it's not clear how one would set up a latching mechanism. How do 'normal' people latch these doors? Thoughts? Anyone here done this?

those doors latch using the stock hardware. that 935 door is stock door shape that was widened. you could alos use one of the smart racing lighweight door latch kits, but still the latch is in the same place as your everyday 911

why not go with 911R doors in that case? lightweight, not widened, same locking mech as stock door.

Roughly how much weight do fiberglass doors save over stock doors?

I think 150 is a bit optimistic. Probably about 30lbs per door for 73+ just for the fg substitution. Changes to lifts, glass, and hardware can save more. pre 73 doors without the impact beam are about 10 lbs lighter.

I found that Spektr makes the windows I want. Almost $400 - oye! I can probably fab them myself for yes....
As the to top, I'm really tempted to get one of the fiberglass repro hardtops. I can sell my soft top to partially cover the outlay. Right now I'm in the due diligence phase trying to locate all of the various bits I'd need. Here's a shot of the windows.
