911 Sunvisor upgrade and testing of 17" blind spot Rear view mirror
I picked up a couple of like new late model sun visors the other day, 150.00 delivered by the seller.
My old ones were in pretty good shape but I was always very carefull of them as the foam inside just didn't have the body it once had. These new ones are clean looking and also have a mirror on both sides. When you flip them up they also lock in place. The rear view mirror was a recommendation of Jack O's, sold by IO Port Racing supplies. It's the 17" version. At first I thought it was kinda big and still may go with an 11" version they also carry. This one clamps on the stock mirror and looks pretty clean. It's made in china but pretty nice quality for $ 20. bucks. The one problem I'm having is the ball socket on the stock mirror isn't tight enough so if the cars sit in the sun it wants to drop out of ajustment from the added weight. I think if a guy had a stock mirror that was good and tight at the swivel the problem would be solved. I see no way to tighten this joint on mine ? I've had it in for a couple of hundred miles and even though the cars you see are much closer than they appear ( about twice as close) The view it give you is great as it pretty much eliminates all the blind spots. I can even see the cars that are flanking me on my drivers side. ![]() ![]() Oop's , Noah move this , Please ![]() Last edited by Bob's Flat-Six; 10-31-2004 at 11:25 AM.. |
