Carrera Fuel line?

I was reading an earlier thread about the 84-89 leaking fuel line and decided to have a look at mine. All of the lines seemed to be good except this one. I put an arrow on the pic, I looked at my Bentley's and couldn't figure what this line does. Just below the crimped metal is rubber and then a clamp on the Y. The rubber just a 1/4" above the clamp is split almost all the way around.
Before I start removing just wanted to know what I'm dealing with. It's right behind the engine blower and in front of the cruise control servo. Thanks!

It is a vacuum line. They seem to crack or split with age, I had to put a clamp on mine also.

Thanks 3.2 Cab.
I removed the small clamp, pushed the line down farther and installed a larger one that covers the split.

Since the line is already compromised....and it looks as if you don't want to replace it...."I" would grind off the aluminum ferrel and replace the rubber line and clamp on both ends....

I just check mine and it is cracked all around the base and hard as a rock.

Anyone know specifically what it is for?

According to the Pelican catalog it is called a "pipline" under the categorty of Motronic Throttle Body and Related Components. Catalog number H-110-328-05.

Thanks.

As far as I know, it is the supply pipe from the vacuum source, to the items that need vacuum, brake booster, cruise, press. regulator, and such.

Mike & Todd,
Thanks for idea and the thread that shows it, I think for now it's OK. I'll have to cut it off in the near future and add the hose and 2 clamps.
