I gave up trying to find a Burgundy dash. Believe me I looked for a long time – wrecks, EBAY, and WWW. I shelled out the $1700.00 for one of 3 remaining burgundy new OEM dashes left from the Fatherland. As the wife says “I’ll be buried in this car”.
If those screws are stripped (actually no longer imbedded in dash material) under the driver side dashboard, I’m not sure how you would ever get the dash pad out in-tacked so “Just Dashes” could recover the old. Hopefully, they have a complete replacement. Jason 88 CAB |
I called Just Dashes and they want $710 for a remolded vinyl dash. Still very high but better than 1,700. Can anyone say how well their dashes match (color, size and texture)? My interior needs alot of help but the doors and rear parts are fine. The seats and carpet in front are shot.
Just dashes claims their replacements are more durable than original equipment. I also asked about a leather covered dash. That runs between $300-425 depending on the company I asked. I read on this site that leather has a bad tendency of warping the dash and was not sure if this was worth trying. |
If there really is a ~$1000 difference in price then I would go with Just Dashes. However, the quality isn't the same.

I asked John Walker about that - he runs a shop in C-Addled where the problem of sun exposure should be about as low as gets in the US. He said avoid, so...

I use a car cover and noticed the cracks after parking the car outside of the garage for a year. It is very hard to buy mail order parts that are not factory. I would be interested in any other manufacturer.
I talked to just dashes and they said they remove the existing vinyl and foam and start over. Maybe the thickness is different on the recover. COlor match would also be critical for a maroon interior. They did have several 8 or 9 different textures for various dashes. Looking at internet pictures is like looking at a car in the rain ...they usually look perfect. I am not going to do anything immediately but I don't want to get a bad deal. |

Could you elaborate on this? Preferably with pictures? I would love to see a racecar setup without the factory dash... Also, Who has used Just Dashes, and how good are they? Thanks, Alex |
