Sway bar bushings?

I'm finishing up the suspension rebuild on my '86 Carrera. I've gone with poly-graphite suspension bushings all the way around, and I'm thinking it'll work out great. Only problem is the sway bar bushings -- I can't seem to figure out which ones are the right ones for my car. AFAIK, I still have stock 22/21mm bars front and rear. Some threads suggest that stock rubber is "good enough" for the non-critical application of sway bar bushings. Others suggest going with poly-graphite sway bar bushings -- but no details about which ones are correct. The Pelican catalog is no help, as the only front sway bar bushings available are OEM, and the only rears available are for either Weltmeister bars or OEM.

Help? What sway bar bushings should I be using?

TIA,

Dan

i used the stock rubber during my suspension rebuild, with elephant bronze up front and poly in the rear. cant say if it was the right method or not but it was one less area to squeak. i set up my rear spring plate with holes and zirks for greasing to avaoid squeaks as well

i ax and spirited back road for reference. its been great so far, but has taken some getting used too.

You can always head to your local autoparts place and by poly..... bushings in the correct size. Some even come with zerks for greasing later on down the road. The only ones this does not really work for (well) is the bushing on the front a-arms.

Thanks for the replies. I'll check at my FLAPS on the way home, but I'm suspicious. These folks don't even know what kind of car I have -- my odds of getting good bushings from them seem slim to me. Failing that, I'll just settle for the OEM rubber ones from Pelican. Thanks,

Dan

yeah good point, it would be hairball getting the a-arm poly in. it was kinda hard to do with the stock rubber. dan, trick is to install the a-arm ones 1st and the ones that attach to the body/skidplate area 2nd. skidplate= the cover for the crossmember and fuel pump.
