My 72 doesn't have anything under the trip odometer reset knob and I have a black plastic plug over the stereo between the defrost and lighter. The other bezels are chrome surronds, same as yours.

Could you do me a favor and take a picture of the front and rear seats? I want to get my retrimmed and I am curious how they are supposed to look. Does your seat have the same material as around your stereo? Do your front seats have piping? What about your rear seats?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Mike

Kurt? What do you want? I have no digital camera here...all I've got are pics of my car that others have taken & I've downloaded...tell ya what. You send me a PM of pics you'd like, along with your snail mail address and I'll do the best I can with my 35mm point and shoot, send you the undeveloped film. Oh..you buy the film. Fair enuf??? FWIW, the fog lite switch looks european...here's the right side of my USA equipment dash:

Which one of the hood badges i posted is correct ? As for pics . I can post the picture and you can tell me yes or no. I see on your dash the middle switch has the chrome nut and a different knob . Maybe mine is an earlier 72` than yours ? My vin is 9112101839 . Whats yours ? My fog light knob is the earlier style . I dought my car is a euro because I have the original bill of sale from manhatten NY .

And another picture with different exposure time(more light).
The badge in the middle I believe is the correct one. It looks identical to one on my RS.

Middle badge looks like it could be a reproduction - hard to tell in the photo, but it's pretty obvious it hasn't been on a car for 32 years. The originals have the numbers 901 molded in the back. Repros are noticeably inferior in terms of quality and craftsmanship level. If that center one is original, it's the best damn one I've ever seen! You could name your price for that little gem.

The left badge actually looks most correct to me - the thicker lines on the "caterpillars" look right.

Right is definitely a later car badge.

Chris's badge pic looked good to me...tough to tell on your trio shot, because the left one is out of focus, but I'm leaning that way. I have no idea what the switch by the trip odo is for, and your "different" dash switch looks like it could be from a ROW (rest of world) car...only the USA models came with the rubber padded switches, if memory serves. Your Targa seems to be #839 of 989 produced. My coupe is #1556 of 1750. Hard to tell which was made earlier. Your door jam DOT sticker should give month of production. July of '72 for my car. (edit) My goof on the "targa" comment...I was misreading the VIN# you gave...
