need help install new clutch cable
is it possible that when i removed old cable that the tube at the firewall could have pulled out some?
new cable matches old cable,wont go forward enough to reinstall. 83 911sc thanks |

they can be a bit hard to get started onto the firewall tube. using a long screwdriver as a prybar, get the cable sleeve started straight (not angled upward like they tend to do) onto the tube, and lever the screwdriver off the edge of the trans mount to pry it all the way onto the tube.

have it started and will go onto sleeve till it hits inside of cable but there is about half a inch between end of tube and firewall , could the tube out of the firewall moved out

the sleeve does not touch the firewall, there's a 1/2" space. if the tube was loose you would be able to move it. 914s got loose all the time, but you don't see it much on 911s.
