My Fuel Pump is Cracked. Recommendations?

Got my car running last weekend and then discovered I have fuel leak . The crack is at the base of the electrical connector.

My question is do I have any options on a replacement? Is there a "better mousetrap" so to speak? I would assume I should stay stock.

Inquiring minds want know!

Don,

Buy the exact Bosch replacement fuel pump. There is nothing better.

Use the opportunity to clean your fuel tank and screen filter. Replacing fuel hoses is also worthwhile. Use OE type hose clamps, not the domestic worm-gear type.

Best,
Grady

Thanks Grady! I also need the metal tray that it rests upon. The forward rubber mount was broken and the pump was moving around a bit. I'll also check the other items you mentioned.

Thanks for the quick response!

Don,
Replace the rubber mounts too, PP has them. Replace all hoses and clamps (I used some stainless steel clamps from McMaster-Carr). You'll be more confident of the results if you replace all old stuff with new.

Art,
Are those mounts separate? I though it looked like one assembly. Its still together and I'm soaking with PBBlaster. If I can clean up the resting plate and put on new mounts, that will be easy.

I found a used replacement pump from a fellow Pelicaneer. Should be able to get it back running in a week. I hope.
