I need a cup holder for the Fat Bastard

Really I do...(Kevin I'm really getting soft )

I dumped a full to-go cup of Dr. Pepper on the new floor mats in the new Fat Bastard yesterday when stopping for a light....good thing the stock floor mat was under there. The little hump in the rear of the stock floor mat saved the DME from a good Dr. Pepper drowning...

And this morning my Starbucks tipped over into the passenger seat (really getting soft ). Good thing I carry a roll of paper towels in the cabin (good for emergency cleaning ..whoa! I'm way pass soft!)

I like Jack's flip over cop holder, but I don't want one mounted on the door..

And no, I don't want the cigarette lighter hanger cup holder...

So com'on boys..lets see what you got...quick before I get the hole saw out and do it the bastard way...a 2.5" hole drilled in the DASH!

Souk, does the FB have a center console? That's where I mounted the flip down cupholder on the 993 lux cruiser.

Jim, yes FB does have a center console...good idea.

Shawn, I gave the kids a ride to school one morning and the one in the front passenger seat complained about having to hold my coffee... Might have to get an older larger model like you're getting to hold my cups

Walmart has adjustable cup holders that work great. I have one in the door pocket of the 911 and and one in the console of the A4. They come with screws and velcro. $1.98.

Souk, I have a small flip down cupholder on the door, looks like a OEM part. I only use that when I have a passenger. When I am by myself, I put the drink right behind the console then take the passenger side part of the seat belt that is attached down by the console and it will actually bend right behind the drink. Will hold it in place during even spirited driving and makes the drink easy to reach.

Paul, I feel really close to breaking in the current ones...might have to introduce some negative reinforcement...tazer gun in the seat cushing?

And I noticed in your signature...that you have a GruppeB car...are you registered?

Rick..did you get you car fixed?

Funny...Kurt, I tried to bend the seat belt latch this morning after my coffee incident, but I gave up. It was kinda hard trying to do it at speed and in traffic...I better spend more time with the car.

First swivel it straight back the bend over behind the drink!

I found one of those boxy things at Pep Boys - in black-and its wedged behind the heater blower control tower and the rear seat-has space for 2 lg cups/bottles and a few cds, and looks ok there as well.

Souk,
I did get my ride going. Actually, Edgar (bennet motor guy) found that the fuel relay was out of the box a bit and loosing some of it's connection.

One of the best I ever saw was a guy who cut off the back half of an athletic shoe and attached it to the passenger seat bracket at the left front. It accommodated most cans & cups and was below the roll axis of the car so it was less likely to 'geyser.'

When I'm headed to a track event, I use a roll of duct tape jammed between the seats as a cup holder.

i like to go with the big roll of duct tape on the floor (passenger side). its not pretty, but it does the job and you can hide it when not in use. no drilling/cutting required!

tech, i never thought of putting it between the seats. i think my roll is too big to fit in that spot, but I'm going to try it now. it would be more convenient than the floor.

Souk, I too use a new roll of duct tape on the floor. It has some stickiness so it won't slide around and I can move it under the seat when not in use. And it comes in many fashion colors.

Hmmm...but I wonder how safe it is!

Good Lord Man!!! Are you people Kuhrazzzzzy???
If you get in a accident that roll of duct tape will travel in a straight line until acted upon by an outside force! That means it would hit the passenger side footwell. If it ricocheted over to the drivers side it could be travelling at a speed up to 15 MPH!!! Thats like getting hit with a missle! If you dont beleive me try this little experiment....hang a roll of duct tape from a string and leisurely walk into it. POW you are goin down Baby!!!
