Correct/Easy way to remove brake pad material.........???

I have a new seat of Porterfield R4S brake pads. I thought I would be fine with 17mm rear pads on my rear c993 calipers and 930 rotors - but the fit is too tight and I need to remove 1-2 mm of material so I don't overheat - You can feel them grabbing from a roll.

So, any good way to remove the material?

I tried driving a few miles - but they just got hot. Any suggestions? Anybody produce a 15mm pad?

I know I know - just drive them, right?

if the belt sander is unavailable.

As i've pointed out many times the pad thickness varies from one manufacturer to another.
