Porsche Crest Screeching Rear Heater Blower

The heater blower in my 84 Carrera engine compartment just started a loud schreeching (feed me) noise.

Can this unit be easily opened and lubed?

Thanks.

Yep, there's a tech article on that very thing someplace around here.

I'm still looking for the thread or article that's about lubing the motor, but here's another alternative

Carrera replacement heater blower (long)

See my post on Heater blower from 11-12.

I am replacing the brushes in my motor. It's the only thing that's faulty with the motor.

Mine once tried to catch on fire with my wife and 3 month old baby inside! After a quick evacuation I unplugged the blower and waited to be sure it was cooling off and then we were on our way. Never did bother to fix it, just went with engine fan air-worked fine.
