Need some wiring help with my 1973 911T
Well i finally got the whole motor back together and it won't turn over
![]() However i do believe this is my fault as when i first disconnected the 14pin connector in the engine compartment the cap for the connector came off and the wires fell out However since they were never touched before i thought i put them back all in the right places and well, i didn't as the starter won't even click. Does anyone know where i can get a wiring diagram and/or have a picture of the 14pin connector with which wires should go where? I have a picture of mine if it would help. Thanks for any and all help I'm in chicago btw if any of you chicago porsche guys read this |

Right here on the Pelican site are a lot of wiring diagrams:

Here is the wire diagram you need. Look for item 84. The right side is the engine to console 14 pin connector. The yellow wire is Pin #1 and the are numbered directly to #14. Look at the inside of the connector to ID Pin #1. Odd on one side, Even on the other.
Good luck! Don't forget to clean both sides of these contacts while you have it apart.

Alright got an update.....i put the yellow starter wire to the #1 slot and the motor is trying to turn over which is good, however i think the batteries are pretty much dead so no fire yet.
But it seems like a lot of the wires in the 14pin terminal are not in the right places. Also according to the wiring diagram for the car there should 10 pins used up correct? If i'm reading the diagram right they should be #1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14 right? Well that is 11 wires and i have 10 going into my 14pin terminal. This is what i'm thinking so far there should be, anyway stop me if i've gone wrong: #1 = yellow wire, starter #2 = green wire, seems to go to ground maybe? (don't have this one #3 = green/blk wire, goes to Oil Temp indicator (have that one) #4 = green/red wire, goes to Oil Pressure indicator (have that one) #5 = blank #6 = blank #7 = red/blk wire, goes to Time Temp switch (don't have this one or maybe i do and its a different color wire?) #8 = grey/red wire, goes to microswitch i think? (i have a grey wire, doesn't seem to be a grey/red) #9 = blk/purple wire, goes to ignition distributor (i have this wire) #10 = blank #11 = blue wire, goes to alternator (i have this one) #12 = brown wire, goes to alternator (I have a brown wire) #13 = blk wire, goes to alternator (think i have it) #14 = red wire, goes to alternator (think i have it) Now how are my wiring diagram reading skills? Seem to be accurate? Now my other question is concerning the other thread i found while searching concerning his 14pin diagram.....there seems to be certain ones in his blank that aren't blank according to the bigger diagram posted here. Whom am i to believe? Oh and by the way....WIRING SUCKS. I'm going to get a clear picture of the wires i have in my 14pin connector (10 in all) and hopefully someone here will help me figure it out. thanks a bunch |
