alternator interchange ?? 75 amp Paris-Rhone
all;
i've searched the board but couldn't find anything specifically relative, so... the car is a '69 911E which has been upgraded to a 75 amp Paris-Rhone (internal regulator). if i need to replace the unit does it HAVE to be a P-R or will any 'similar' unit do ? i see Bosch, Valeo, SEV, Marschal. my unit uses a 24MM nut, FWIW. coarse threads ?? please forgive the newbie questions ;-) thanks as always! cheers jerry |

You have my sympathy! Try and find an original type (55 amp Bosch) that was used in the car initially. It'll be much more reliable in the long run. If you've unlucky, Pelican will have the Paris-Rhone (Valeo) replacement which will probably be the easiest solution. Avoid using "monster" batteries with it, as this causes most failures.

The key is the fan housing. The 75A used a deeper one.
