I need help removing the output flange on tranny
Tonight , I'm going to try to remove the flange (output shaft) that the cv joint connects to on the tranny. I need to replace the oil seals.
What size socket do I need and what tricks can I use to hold the flange from turning while trying to remove the nut? 915 tranny. Help Rick |
Rick,
Put two bolts in the flange and use a long bar to restrain the flange. A regular socket will work on the bolt. Be sure and oil all the surfaces, including seal, when you reinstall the flange. Torque the bolt to spec. Best, Grady |
Thanks Grady, Do you remember what size the bolt is?

Rick,
You are taxing my memory – 19 mm wrench size. It must be a socket wernch. Best, Grady |
