I need help removing the output flange on tranny
Tonight , I'm going to try to remove the flange (output shaft) that the cv joint connects to on the tranny. I need to replace the oil seals.
What size socket do I need and what tricks can I use to hold the flange from turning while trying to remove the nut? 915 tranny. Help Rick

Rick,
Put two bolts in the flange and use a long bar to restrain the flange. A regular socket will work on the bolt. Be sure and oil all the surfaces, including seal, when you reinstall the flange. Torque the bolt to spec. Best, Grady

You are taxing my memory – 19 mm wrench size. It must be a socket wernch. Best, Grady
