Sidestripes: opinions please!

Just about to get the stripes put on the side of my Carrera 2.7 hot-rod but can't decide on colours... What do you reckon?

Here's the car:

Here are some ideas for stripes: silver to match Minilites; orange to match bumpers and sills; combination to match both:

What do the 'experts' reckon?

Orange....keeps the lines from the bumpers consistent. The wheels look great and they don't need any help.

Sweet car BTW!

silver to match the minilites. Cool car. Tell us about your exhaust.

The exhaust is a replica of the factory sport muffler set-up. Mods to internal baffling and two open pipes (capped – usually! – for street use) allow for very free breathing. Even when 'capped' the exhaust note via the original tailpipe is way more 'interesting' than stock. Done for me by Autofarm in the UK using a stainless-steel muffler.

Combo...the silver and orange really tie it all together.

Combination - I agree with WesMason, the two colors tie it all together.

Where are you sourcing these from or, are you doing your own custom work?

Oh just great! That's all I need – another option!

Must admit, I do quite like the 'combo' idea...

side p scripts are going to look great on that car. are you planning on adding decklid p script as well? how about the single tape stripe on the bumpers? are you going to mount the rocker panel scripts with the bottom stripe below the door? i think you need to take all the above into consideration to help choose the rocker panel script color.

Hmmm, valid points, Bob. The plan is not to add bumper deco or a script across the rear – I want to keep the car clean and as uncluttered as possible. The stripes will sit above the door bottom, leaving a thin black line between them and the orange of the rocker panels.

The good thing using computer-cut vinyl is that I can always take it off if I don't like it!

do you have a sideshot of your car? also the above font looks the font called EUROSTYLE. i would use the porsche font. watch which version you have of the porsche font, the R is incorrect on some - it's straight as opposed to the correct curved version.

Unfortunately, I've never seen a picture that does justice to Rob Dickinson's car.

But it's a car that proves you can get creative with the color scheme and end up with something that's really cool.

No side-on shot at present. Yes, the font shown is Eurostyle Bold Extended (with 130 per cent stretch) just to use as a mock-up. The graphics company I'm using can match the P-script no problem. BTW, I love that car of Rob Dickinson...

I like the silver stripe/orange logo/silver stripe.

Does my opinion weigh more because I'm a designer??? :P
