If you are taking the compressor, etc. out, why are you going to leave the lines in place?

They come out easily, and it cleans things up. If you wanted to put them back in, they go back in easily.

Less than an hour in, less than an hour back on.

Why carry them around on the car when they are useless?

SoCal:
They just seemed like they'd be a pain to take out. 1 hour? We'll see, I hadn't given it a lot of thought.

I still have mine in there, but I think I'll have to try it out for a while when I down there in a few weeks to see if I can stand it without AC. After living in North Dakota for the last few years, my tolerances have swung the other direction, but I'll need to lose that for the new job anyhow.

I suppose not upgrading to the Kuehl system is really saving 3 grand that could go towards other things.

Ed, I'm guessing the P-car isn't your daily driver then?

efhughes3 11-20-2004 02:31 PM

Nope, not the daily driver. If it were, I'd have to address the A/C. Top off early weekend morning drives in the summer can't be beat.

I see. I'm from Wichita Falls so I now what your weather is like which is why I couldn't believe that you would survive without the AC. Mine is a daily driver.

Ed, the car looks great. I am also in Dallas and have never heard of Jack's. Most everybody on the BMWCCA always refers folks to either GTI or Stuarts (?). Were these guys faster, cheaper, or just better?

Thanks,
rickdm

Rick: If I recall, Stuart's was one I got a quote from. Something was screwy, I can't remember-short on staff, too busy, something like that. I got Jack's recommended as a result of discussion about being popular with older cars and hot rods, but they do a lot of "garden-variety" work also. They were not cheap, maybe a couple of hundred bucks off of the other quotes.

I also had them put a whole new rear end on my Infiniti after being hit, another great job.

Looks great Ed, I'd love to have on for my car as well. It's a nice wieght savings as well. Looks like you need to update your avatar now.
