For variety of reasons:

1. There were no affordable BB units with those characteristics available at that time.

2. Engine is 0.3L larger than yours

3. TT simplifies packaging and there was no pesky CIS to worry about.

4. Short headers will keep exhaust gases warm, which will heat up the cats quickly, which means they would be able to pass emission tests better.

5. When you are major manufacturer, you can order customized turbochargers from factory that exactly fit your needs.
