Smoke after shut down?
I have recently upgraded my 2.2 to a 2.7. The motor runs very strong and has the usual oil leaks. After I shut the engine down when hot, I notice smoke coming out of the fan housing. You can also smell it when driving, especially when the heat is on. I'm thinking that it must be oil dripping on the engine or exhaust manifolds from somewhere? Before I tear into it and take the fan housing off, any suggestions? The top of the engine is very clean and dry. Thanks Darryl

That's is oil burning or maybe some object burning behind the fan and os over the cylinders. Is B.B.Q. TIME!!!

You have to trace the leak. And unfortunately, they are easier to spot when running than not. My SC used to do this, until I fixed the most of the oil leaks. And it continued, until I carefully flushed the compartment with a pressure washer.

The leaks are not likely to be under the fan shroud. Most likely an oil leak onto the heat exchangers and the smoke is drifting up through the fan shroud.

Mine was leaking from the oil pressure sender. It is a PIA to tighten while the engine mount is installed.
