901 weight

I know I have seen this posted already, but I can't find it.
What is the weight of a 901 trans? While I'm at it, a 915 too.

Thanks

901 tranny without oil should weigh about 75lbs. Unsure about the 915.

Porsche Crest

Per the spec books ... 901 = 99 lbs, 915 = 119 lbs

Thank you, I figured I should know how heavy it is BEFORE I remove it off the engine.

If you can wait until tommorrow I can weigh one that's out of the car on our pallet scale. I trust Warren but 99lbs seems awful heavy since I'm not that big of a guy to lug these things around with relative ease (as compared to say a Ford Toploader). Maybe I just don't know my own strength, or maybe the spec book weight includes the halfshafts?

I think the weight must include the halfshafts, I shipped one to texas in a plywood crate I built with a bunch of other stuff in the crate and the total weight of the crate -according to UPS- was 109 lbs.

Well, it's off; it did not seem like 100 lbs, even with the trans mount still on, maybe I will weigh it later today if anyone wants to know.

Sure - I'm a sucker for wt. data. Post what kind of scale you use -- a UPS scale will be better than the one in your bathroom.

I think the 901 changed at some point -- some Mg parts became Al if I recall right. That would affect the wt.
