how bad is too bad?
I have a very rusty '67 911. I was going to part it out, but keep playing with the idea of trying to fix it. It would be my first resto, and I am not worried about destroying it, as it's scrap right now. My question is when is it just too much? Any before pics would be appreciated. I will post some if requested. I don't need another 911, so buying a tub really isn't something I want to do, just figured I'd try it if it's doable, instead of trashing it.

Just go by the dollars involved. If it costs far more money to make it right than to buy a more complete project, I'd go with the latter. How much is your time worth to you?

Time is not really the point, this is not as much about the completed car, but the project, something to work on. I am sure it would be cheaper to buy another tub and swap mechanicals.

Banned but not out, yet..

Nothing that a 60 gal drum of bondo and a little light painting couldn't cure.
Given enough time all the metal would be gone and the car would be 100% bondo. Legal Disclaimer: not suitable for track.

drop a V8 in it, toss it up on eBay. You'll make a hefty profit I bet.

LOL, that's what I figured; I just needed some encouragement as cutting her up has been hard to decide to do. I just bought my 74, and this one came along with it; with all fenders interior etc. I figured I would cut her up once in the garage, but had a mental block for some reason.
Now to the garage....

If it's an S it could be worth saving. My father and I saved a VW bug in similar condition (quite possibly worse), so it can be done. That said, I wouldn't do it again for a measly bug, but an S? That's debatable.
