Where do these wires go?
I'm hoping to be a lightweight and finally really got started last night. Where do these wires end up going? They disappear on me, and I want to completely pull them and all other associated AC stuff. Is the AC blower motor the black thing in the smuggler's box? Also any thoughts on removing the backseats? I got one of the seats out, but the really wide flathead screw on the other just doesn't want to turn, and now its begining to strip

One switch should be the AC blower switch and the other the AC thermostat. And yes the AC blower is in the smuggler's box.

If you pull the floor boards and the carpet, it's pretty easy to follow the wiring up into the front trunk. You might be able to get the rear seat bolts with some WD40 and a really big screwdriver. If the screwdriver fails, you might be able to get ahold of it with vise grips. If that doesn't work, you will probably have to drill it and use a bolt extractor.
At least you can use all that loose change to help fund your project! I just stripped (and replaced) my interior, and I probably found $10 in change from the PO. |

There is also an AC temp resistor/housing behind that passenger wooden floor board that needs to come out to be able to remove the evaporator in the smuggler's box.
On the rear seats, You usually need more leverage for those bolts. I'd get a 1/2" drive socket with a wide blade flat-head screwdriver bit. You can find one at Sears or any tool truck. |
