footboard attachment at top
What holds the drivers foor board in at the top? I can't find any info on this in the PET for my '73.5.
The holes in the footboard go over the metal tabs on the chassis, leaving some holes in the metal tabs clear to recieve .... something. It looks like two wooden wedges or pieces of leather could go there. I'm wondering what is supposed to secure the footboard to the tabs..... ![]()

Actually, that's where the carpet is attached. There are similar slots in the top edge of the carpet. Also attached to the carpet are vinyl "tongues" that slip into those metal tabs that hold the carpet (and floorboard) in place.
