Clapton a Porschephile?

I just heard on KFOG, THE SF Bay Area radio station, that Eric Clapton get nailed for speeding (130+ mph) in a Porsche 911 on a French road. He was find over a $1000 dollars and he is no longer allowed to drive in France. He was good natured about the incident and allowed a photo session with the arresting officers.

"Clapton is God"? I my humble opinion, this incident has made him closer to godlike. ;>)

EC's a big car guy from what I hear. Always heard about his Ferrari colection, but not his P-car stuff.
Had the opportunity to see him live for the first time at the beginning of the summer. 12th row!
I left the concert slightly depressed that I'll probably never play as good as him

But the show was phenominal!

Eric Clapton nabbed at 134mph in his 911 Turbo.

No problems with suspended drivers license and $1000 fine. He poses for pictures with the local police. Classy guy.

Can't speed in France anymore. Montoya has also been nabbed by the Gendarmes.

Saw EC w/ Cream, and again w/Derek & the Dominoes (2nd row free tix). The Dominoes show was one of only 2 in which Duane Allman played. Saw Hendrix too.

Aaaaaah, the good old daze!

Shoot, even if you only play 'half as good'...that still doesn't suck !

ps: I would have given anything to see Duane play live w/ D&TDs...I didn't even realize that Duane played any "live" shows with them.

pps: My 10 yr. old yellow lab's name is Layla...

In 1975, saw the Stones in NY and Led Zep in NC. Have ticket stubs. Don't really remember the shows. . .

Awesome. Ive always liked Clapton and actually have the latest version of his Signature Blackie Strat...which is one hell of a nice guitar. He always seemed like a regular type chap.

I hope it's not too confusing, but I merged the three 'Clapton gets a speeding ticket' threads.
